Hello Folks,

I'd say: no risk, no fun!

As far as the wording of the ad text is concerned, you could turn over and over
every word, and find new possible positive or negative implications as much as
you like.

Approaching it rather from the "approximate meaning", then indeed, it *is* a
question if we, as a project, want the reference to the Cinelerra project,
or if we want to be perceived completely on our own.

I can speak here as a core dev on my own behalf: for *me*, there is a strong
relation not only to the Cinelerra community, but really to the project.
We started fighting with the Cinelerra code, and Lumieara is the out-spring
of an attempt to sanitise the Cinelerra code base.

So basically we're just telling the truth -- which might be a bad idea when
it comes to advertising. Thanks for pointing out these possibly negative
implications. Personally, I was totally unaware of this angle.

On the other hand, the text runs right at the start "The NLE is geared towards
the rigours of a professional environment", which is exactly where Cinelerra
has its weakness (lacking this kind of rigour). Wouldn't exactly that send a
message to those disappointed of Cinelerra's "inner values"?

Thus I tend to accept the ad as is and just tell Ginger to go ahead.
Indeed I think she did a good job, working well with just the few elements
we gave her for the design.
