Hi Christian
Hi all the NoBuggers,
several new Debian releases of NoBug!
Now I've gotten a lot of opportunities to practice ;-)
Mostly now my workflow is automated, and cutting a new release is just
a matter of issuing some commands and edit the changelog.
The debian packaging can still be considered "beta" but is mostly settled now.
Debian releases are maintained using git-buildpackage and can be found at
http://git.lumiera.org/gitweb?p=nobug;a=summary
To check it out locally: git-clone git://git.lumiera.org/nobug
And make sure, you're on the debian branch
* debian/201001.1-1 : the first january-2010-release
* debian/201001.1-2 : includes all fixes on master up to 8ec97d12ad34d3
"Thanks to testing by Jeroen van de Nieuwenhof, MacOS X is now supported"
* debian/201001.2-1 : the newest release from Christian yesterday.
NOTE: don't use it yet for Lumiera
Meanwhile, I've settled down on a versioning and merging scheme which seems to
fit with the development style of NoBug. If the versions seem confusing, please
look at the git tree (with a graphical frontend like qgit or gitk). Then things
should be pretty much self explanatory. Baseline: you'll find a merge for each
debian release. For major upstream releases, I'll cut a debian baseline release,
using the version number set by upstream. On demand I'll make debian
maintainance or fix releses, based on the orig.tar.gz of the last major release.
Thus, to find out what's in a release, do either
* look at the git tree to find the latest merge
* look in the debian changelog
Cheers,
Hermann
