yes, this social stuff is the realm of spam.
But blocking the SPAM overlords is a rather quick task, and you can 
easily tell a spam user from a guy who can be really interested in the 
project.

I'll contact the admin of the group and ask to add me as 
administrator, so I can remove all the spam subscribers.
Then I can post the news I read in this mailing list or in the website.
