ok, guess i misunderstood you - if you are talking about a compilation 
which unites several timelines, "composition" would be appropriate. The 
question would be if distinguishing between timelines and compositions 
is not a bit too complicated already. In FinalCut you can edit sequences 
into sequences, usually done if you want to apply an effect (like 
resizing anamorphic to 4:3 letterbox) only once, without changing each 
clip seperately. I personally don't see the need to distinguish between 
sequence and composition to accent it's top-level nature. maybe "nested" 
timelines / sequences could be marked with a slightly different icon or 
color to indicate their more complex nature.
